Sinopsis

La doctora Jordan Cavanaugh es una joven forense, brillante e intrépida con una espléndida carrera y una tendencia a ir más allá del deber para investigar los crímenes que se le presentan. Tras un período fuera de su ciudad natal, Boston, decide regresar junto a su padre, Max (Ken Howard) un ex policía obsesionado con el asesinato sin resolver de su esposa y madre de Jordan. Una vez allí, vuelve a ocupar su anterior puesto de trabajo bajo la supervisión de su jefe el doctor Garret Macy (Miguel Ferrer). Su poco ortodoxo método de trabajo pondrá a prueba a sus compañeros tanto en el terreno personal como en el profesional. Además, el recuerdo de la trágica muerte de su madre, aún sin esclarecer, hará que sienta muy de cerca de las víctimas de los casos que trata de resolver.
