Después de que un tecnicismo libere a n hombre juzgado por la violación y asesinato de una joven, su padre asesina al hombre. Al admitir su culpa y negarse a recurrir a la locura temporal, el padre coloca a su abogado en una situación prácticamente sin salida. En un esfuerzo extremo, el abogado decide llamar al juez que originalmente liberó al asesino y desafiar todo el sistema legal que permitiría tal farsa.
