<p>William David Friedkin (Chicago, 29 de agosto de 1935[2]- Los Ángeles, 7 de agosto de 2023)[3][4] fue un director de cine y televisión, productor y guionista estadounidense.[5] En 1971 obtuvo, con 35 años, el premio Óscar por su película The French Connection.[6] A lo largo de su trayectoria obtuvo además premios y nominaciones en certámenes como los Globo de Oro y en festivales como Cannes, Locarno, Sitges o Venecia.[7] </p><p>Entre sus películas destacan The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968), Los chicos de la banda (1970), The French Connection (1971), El exorcista (1973), Sorcerer (1977), Cruising (1980), Vivir y morir en Los Ángeles (1985), Jade (1995), Rules of Engagement (2000) y The Hunted (2003).[8]</p>
