Mariska Magdolna Hargitay (Santa Mónica, California; 23 de enero de 1964) es una actriz, productora y directora estadounidense de cine y televisión, ganadora de un premio Emmy y un Globo de Oro por su actuación como la detective Olivia Benson en la serie televisiva policíaca Ley y Orden: Unidad de Víctimas Especiales, de la NBC.
Estudió interpretación en la UCLA y debutó en el cine con la película Ghoulies en 1985. Posteriormente actuó en Leaving Las Vegas (1995) y Cocodrilo (1999).
En televisión ha sido protagonista en series como: Cracker (1997), Arma Perfecta (1991) y Ley y Orden: Unidad de Víctimas Especiales (1999), en esta última, interpreta a la detective Olivia Benson. Por ese rol ha sido nominada ocho veces al premio Emmy a mejor actriz en una serie dramática y ganó en el año 2006. De igual manera, por el mismo papel, fue nominada dos veces al Globo de Oro como mejor actriz principal en una serie dramática y ganó en el año 2005. También recibió dos Gracie Allen Awards y un Prism Award.
